The following FREE services are offered to all Washington Township residents.

Notary Public Service

Register to VOTE!

You may register to vote at the Washington Township Center any time throughout the year except during the 27 days preceding an election. During the 27 days preceding an election, you must register at the Will County Clerks office in Joliet. Registration reopens the second day following an election. Your specific polling place is listed on your Voter Registration Card or see "Where do I vote in Washington Township?"

You must meet the following qualifications…

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen by birth or naturalization
  • Must be 18 years of age by Election Day
  • Must be a resident of their precinct 30-days prior to election

You are required to supply the following…

  • TWO forms of identification are required – one must show your current residence address and provide proof of age
  • You must be registered under your LEGAL name

Apply for Permanent and Temporary Disability Parking Placard
If you become temporarily or permanently disabled, you may qualify for a Disability Parking Placard. Temporary Placards can be issued at the Washington Township Center by picking up an application to be completed by your physician and returning it to the township office. You can also download the application by clicking here.

We will also be happy to assist you in applying for a Permanent Disability Placard, stop by our office for the application and once your physician has completed it, we will help you file it with the state. Permanent Disability Placards can only come from the state and may take two weeks to process.

Apply for RTA Reduced Fare Permits
If you are Senior Citizen or a Person with a Disability you can apply for a reduced fare permit, which can be used on all RTA services. These services include CTA buses and rapid transit, Pace buses and METRA trains in the six county regions served by the RTA: Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will.

When applying for the first time we must have one of the types of identification listed below:

  • State issued photo identification (any US state)
  • Driver’s License (any US state)
  • Passport inner page showing photos and dates of birth (any country)
  • US Immigration Alien Registration form (both sides)
  • Other official Government Identification with a photo and birth date (Public aid cards are not accepted)

Your application will be will be completed at the township office and sent to the RTA. The average length of time for processing an application form is approximately two weeks.

Where do I vote in Washington Township?

In 2011, Washington Township was redistricted and was changed from FOUR Precincts to THREE Precincts and your Polling Place location MAY have changed. Please click on the "Precinct Map" link below to determine your Polling Place.
